There is barely a species better known and more beloved to us than the red robin. This is due to its signature orange-red breast, gorge and forehead which gives it a cute appearance, as well as the big dark beady eyes that make it look neat. Exquisite also is its solemn and melancholic singing, which the handsome bird, well known as an early riser, exercises to perfection in the early hours of the break of dawn. In listening to its marvellous singing, one can easily realises its relationship to artistic songbird-spechies such as nightingale and song thrush. The red robin is one of the few bird species at our latitudes, whose effervescently, mellifluous singing can be heard and enjoyed also on mild winter days. In a playful whistling to itself, it joins gorgeous song pearls to one wonderful musical chain.
